Day 1 of SXSW with CK Golf Solutions
I made it! After a couple hours of flight delays last night I finally made it to Austin, TX. We're rocking CK Golf Solutions (@ckgolfsolutions) today and talking about golf business, management, social media and other solutions. Jeff & Tara Ciecko are in their 3rd year of operation out of Vancouver after putting in years of experience at golf courses all around British Columbia. TeeZeria is a Pizzeria for Funny T-Shirts and I'm Off to SXSW
It's always fun writing these blog posts, but even more so when I keep getting to write about companies that I wore shirts for last year! Fluent Photography takes much better photos then we do!
I took over 1,600 photos last year for IWYS and none of them were stunning pieces of artwork. That being said, I didn't have a great camera and now that I do, I don't know what I'm doing. Fluent Photography's Matt and Doug Convente on the other hand know how to take amazing photos (check out 3 examples below). They have years of experience and print their photos on aluminum, notecards, posters and standard matted prints. Chikyu Agora is a Japanese PBS Style Show on NHK Premium and I'm being followed today
Chikyu Agora is an innovative TV show in Japan and translates to "Earth Square". Agora is from ancient Greece and was a place like a town square where people would exchange information (social!). Sulzbacher Center of Jacksonville, Walk a Mile in Their Shoes on March 27
It's really great to see some Jacksonville people getting involved with IWYS. I could easily pick up and move anywhere, but I genuinely enjoy Jacksonville, especially writing this in 30 degree NYC. The Sulzbacher Center of Jacksonville gives homeless men and women opportunities they would never have. They're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year to homeless people in need. The Sulzbacher Center is having their 4th annual "Walk a Mile in Their Shoes" on March 27, raising money, awareness and the best part - promoting sleeping in!
If you're a friend of mine in Jacksonville, you'd better register today. There is a 5k for $25, a 1-mile walk for $20 or if you don't live in Jacksonville you can donate $20 to sleep in on the morning of March 27 (and they mail you a t-shirt). So go on... sign up. I'm flying back in town on the 26th and will be there to partake in the 1-mile walk (not sleeping in like a weenie)!
I've got quite a busy trip in NYC, look for me on live video from Gary Vaynerchuk's Vaynermedia office today. And if you care, I'm staying at the Time Hotel which has been fantastic thus far with free wifi and I got upgraded to a suite. Sweet!
